This day was truly lovely, magical and absolutely wonderful. I first met with William and Rachel towards the beginning of August (yes, only a few short weeks before their wedding). Rachel realized as she got closer to her lovely day, that she had so many wonderful elements that she would need assistance with the day of the wedding. Especially because she realized that she couldn’t possibly organize them herself, nor did she want to burden a family member with the duty of having to work on her wedding day. Both she and William truly wanted someone to relieve the pressure of all the plans and keep all of them on the same page the day of the wedding. Hence, that was where I stepped in.

After our initial meeting, I quickly rounded up all their loose ends and setup our final walkthrough with their fabulous caterer, White House Catering. At their walkthrough, we finalized all items for their layout and did a complete run through of their Day of Wedding Timeline. You could not wipe the smile off William & Rachel’s faces as they realized how relaxed they knew their wedding day would now be.

The day of their wedding quickly approached and Rachel arrived at the Nixon to finish her hair, makeup and to get dressed in her classicly stunning gown. She chose to wear what I would call an early 40’s style veil, which was attached by a hair piece and only covered her face. Katie, from Beauty and the Beach, did a fantastic job on her hair and makeup…. William grew up admiring Fred Astaire and therefore, the day of the wedding dawned a perfect imitation of the classic Fred Astaire tuxedo, complete with tails and a top hat. The two of them looked perfect and really did take you back to the early 40’s…

Their ceremony and reception were both held at the Richard Nixon Library. The garden looked stunning and was made complete by a huppa designed and built by the bride’s father. You couldn’t have asked for better weather too the day of their wedding.

Rachel chose some gorgeous decor elements for her wedding. She had the vision of her wedding filled with ivory, creams, and a bit of gold to keep things simple, clean and yet eye catching. I just LOVED how she chose a different ivory flower for each centerpiece, and her bouquet was absolutely stunning! Cindy Sheridan did a fantastic job capturing exactly what Rachel wanted.

I loved the simple and classic details that Rachel included, especially their handmade and designed seating chart which William actually sketched and made for their special day.

They also made me giggle a bit, when instead of doing a cake for their reception, they chose to serve some delightful cheeses. And yes, they did “cut the cheese!!!” It was then served on a gorgeous platter full of fruits and other sweets for guests to enjoy with their wines… The White House Catering did an amazing job of creating these delicable platters and all their other wedding food was fantastic as well!

Rachel and William were blessed with so many wonderful friends who came alongside them the day of their wedding to perform typical vendor duties from: the Ceremony Guitarist, John Scott Evans, to the DJ Codi at Sky Grass Music, to their photographer Jim from Jim Koch Studio. It was such a pleasure working with each of these people who really did make Rachel & William’s wedding a dream come true.

Their evening came to a perfect end, when Rachel & William were wisked away and in Classic Limo, truly befitting them as the king and queen they truly were that day. Thank you, William & Rachel for giving me the opportunity to work with both of you. The only thing I would have changed, would have been to have had the opportunity to work with you earlier in the wedding planning process, as you both are truly lovely, kind people. Many blessings to both of you!
