I just LOVE it when a client of mine things a bit outside the box, and has the tasteful etiquette and style that would even make Martha Stewart “ooohh” and “ahhh.” Well that pretty much describes Emily to a “T”. Em is such an amazing woman, with a sweet demeanor, great laugh, and smile that could light up any dreary room (not that the East Room at the Nixon Library needs much help in that area). But still, it is true. Em is truly remarkable, and her sense of style “screamed” out as she brought a little bit of the Big Apple to the OC…

Emily and Ryan both grew up here in the OC and therefore knew this was exactly the place they wanted to get married. Em’s dad made a joke that it took them (her parents) moving all the way across the US for her to decide to get married all the way back on the West Coast. Well, West Coast did meet East Coast at Ryan and Em’s wedding at the amazing Richard Nixon Library

The day started out lovely. Emily and her bridesmaids arrived to finish getting ready. I was truly impressed with the blue dresses the bridesmaids wore, all designed by one of them. Different, unique and just stunning. Em’s dress was also fit for a queen. Not a traditional ball-gown, but a flowy strapless gown, with a bit of frill, that did tie in all the glizz and glam she had mixed throughout her wedding. Adam Sjoberg photography and Sager Productions were there from the start of this lovely day to capture Em, and the wedding, in all their glory. Thanks you two for the great job!

Em’s colors incorporated a light pink, pewter, ivory, gold and hint of the tiffany blue. When I saw the color combination I just plain smiled. I am not by any means a color expert, and to be honest, I would not have paired the blue with these colors. But it was absolutely lovely! And take Em, to bring that bit of unique flare to the OC…

The details that Em and her mom Nancy put into the wedding were fantastic… everything from the light silver pashminas handed to every female guest, delicate and beautiful ceremony programs, to the coffee table guest book of the Times (a true collectible on its own, now with all her guests comments and sayings throughout it), to the matchbooks on the bar, light pink customized cocktail napkins for the beverages and hors d’ oeuvres, and who could forget their amazing engagement pics spread all throughout the mantels in the East Room.

Now their ceremony could not have been more perfect either. As the sun set, it lit up the Nixon Birth House with a soft glow and created a warm backdrop for the stunning florals and arrangements by none other than the beloved Jenny B Floral Design. Em also wanted to have the traditional white wood chairs, and so Signature Party Rentals came to the rescue. Pastor Rick Darden did a fantastic job guiding the ceremony and making sure it incorporated Em and Ryan’s wishes and personalities. And the ceremony would not have been complete without a the sweet melodies played by Serenade Strings…

After the ceremony, guests wined and dined to their hearts delight on fine cuisine and beverages provided by none other than White House Catering.. They always do such a wonderful job and guests commented throughout the entire evening how great the food was and how nice the servers were. Their service and attention to detail really set the stage for the festivities in the grand East Room. And the decor definately caught your eye, from the tall feather arrangements to the playful bird cages. All in warm tones that simply made you take a deep breath and relax…

Oh, and who could forget Em’s GORGEOUS wedding cake by Beverly’s Best Bakery. And yummy too it was (I was able to actually sneak a piece this time…)

As guests danced the night away to the music and entertainment by Eric Trine, I couldn’t help but smile as I watched Emily and Ryan truly enjoying themselves. It was a glorious wedding, fit for two truly wonderful people. Congrats Em & Ryan! Thanks for letting me share in your special day!
