When a wedding is set in a location as gorgeous as the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, you know it’s going to be a beauty to behold. This tropical-inspired California stunner was everything and more, starting with a palm leaf arch at the ceremony with the sparkling ocean as its backdrop, and an aisle lined with sea glass bottles, lanterns, driftwood, orchids, and bear grass. To complete our relaxed beach feel, seating at the ceremony alternated between rustic wooden chairs, bamboo chairs, and wooden benches with fringe lounge pillows. It was truly spectacular from every angle!
Designing Kristina and Jeff’s wedding invitations and stationery was a dream come true for us as we were able to fully embrace the tropics—-with touches of palm trees and bistro lights, no less! We carried this beachy vibe through all of the signage on the wedding day, from the welcome sign, to the menu cards, to the palm leaf table numbers, and to personalized palm leaf place cards at each place setting.
The reception was the definition of tropical-chic with alternating rustic wood tables and rectangular tables dressed in sapphire blue linens, gold chargers, varying heights of candles, amber glassware, palm leaf table numbers, palm leaf place cards, and white florals with accents of orchids, plumeria, and lush tropical foliage. The sweetheart table was an absolute vision with deep blue arm chairs for the bride and groom, a monogrammed wreath hung overhead, and a stunning array of sea glass bottles, white lanterns, wooden crates, candles galore, and florals and overflowing bear grass at the base of the table. To top it all off, a cigar bar was setup on the patio with a live a cigar roller hand-crafting cigars for guests to enjoy.
