Every now and then, amazing as it is, I get a perfect wedding. Now when I say perfect, of course there are a few glitches here and there, but really, only ones that I know about and no one else. To everyone at this wedding, including my dear sweet Bride & Groom, Steph and Robby, their wedding was PERFECT!!!! I seriously could scream from the top of my lungs… PERFECT!!!! And yes, they truly did deserve it!
I met with Stephanie and her dear mother Robbin earlier this year to chat about planning Steph’s upcoming wedding. We had such a blast chatting and becoming friends, it was hardly a typical bride/coordinator relationship. Steph is a kick in the pants, and knew EXACTLY what she wanted, and by golly, she got it! All of it… even a few surprises she wasn’t expecting, like ambient lighting in the East Room by her parents. Wow, was she surprised!
Anyway, back to the wedding. It was a gorgeous September afternoon at the Nixon Library and the scene was set for an incredible fall wedding, with colors fit for a queen from reds, oranges, browns, and champagne. Stephanie and Robby chose not to see each other prior to the ceremony, so I was able to sneak a glimpse at Robby seeing Steph for the first time as she walked down the aisle in the Rose Garden. Wow, was it beautiful! Jenny B Floral did an AMAZING job with the color palette and floral selection for Steph. Truly breathtaking!
And none other than the famous (and one of my favorites), Jim Kennedy of Jim Kennedy Photographers, was on the scene to capture each moment along with Dan from Plug Video… It was my first time working with Dan, and he was great!
After the lovely, tearful and joyful ceremony, guests enjoyed quenching cocktails and delectable Hors d’ Oeuvres by White House Catering. Oh, and one of the things I LOVED that Stephanie “had to have” was a wonderful string quartet for her ceremony, Strings for Your Heart, and an amazing pianist to play on the grand piano for cocktail hour. A sweet older gentleman, named Jack, roused the crowd while guests wined and dined… It was wonderful to hear live music being played all around the Nixon Library, whether you were in the garden hearing the quartet, or inside listening to jazz on the piano. Absolutely divine!
When the doors opened to the East Room, guests were truly in awe and couldn’t decide what to look at first… whether it was the gorgeous lighting and tunes by Carcano DJ,
Yummy Candy Apples at each place setting by Happy Chocolate Creations,
The simple and stunning wedding cake by Beverly’s Best,
The old photos on the mantels from both Stephanie and Robby’s side of the family,
Or simply just the gorgeous florals by Jenny B. It really was a gorgeous, lovely and breathtaking reception.
As Stephanie & Robby danced the night away, I remember wanting to pinch myself that everything went so smoothly and according to plan. I smiled as I thought it was God’s way of reminding me why I truly love to do weddings and giving me a perfect one every now and again….
Congrats Steph and Robby on a PERFECT wedding… Thanks for letting me share in your special day… Many blessings!
