I truly love what I do and feel so blessed to have the opportunity to serve so many awesome brides and grooms throughout the year.  I feel even more blessed when I get to coordinate and plan a wedding for dear friends, in this case, it was the wedding for Laura & Anthony.

I’ve know Laura for over 6 years now.  Wow, does time fly… She has always been an avid supporter, cncourager of mine, and a huge fan of Agape Planning.  So needless to say, I was thrilled when she and Anthony got engaged and of course I made a bee-line in her direction to let her know I’d love to be a part of her special day.  She got me really good that afternoon when I spoke to her about this as she said she’d be more than happy to review a “bid” from me…  I honestly stood their shocked for a minute, as I really didn’t think I had any competition for this, and then a HUGE smile came over her face.  That girl, I wanted to strangle her for her silliness!  To this day, she says the look on my face was hilarious and one she wished she had on film…

Over the next year, Laura, Anthony, and I met several times to bring their vision to reality.  It was seriously fun to see her as the anxious, excited bride.  I LOVED every minute of the planning process with her, especially in assisting her line-up some of our FAVORITE vendors to be a part of her day… When the dream team came together, I knew their day was going to be spectacular.

Laura and Anthony met at the Richard Nixon Library, so of course it was a natural and easy decision for them to choose this outstanding venue to be the location for their ceremony and reception.  Only a few times in my career do I get to see the East Room and Rose Garden take my breath away.  And this wedding, was such a time as this…

Laura selected a color palette of blush pinks and champagne. All of the girls carried classic ivory bouquets that complimented their champagne gowns.

Laura & Anthony chose to have a first look before their ceremony. These photos could not have captured the moment more perfectly. By far one of my favorite first looks I have ever seen!

Laura & Anthony selected the stunning rose garden for their wedding ceremony. With the garden in full bloom, superb florals by Jenny B. Floral Design, and all their family & friends, it was the perfect stage for a ceremony that Laura had always dreamed of.

Laura & Anthony headed off with their wonderful photographer, Eric of Jim Kennedy Photographers, for some great intimate shots. (Thanks so much for the photos!)

Cocktail hour was full of tasty hors d’ eouvres and sassy cocktails, catered by none other than White House Catering. Laura had her engagement picture turned into a puzzle that then served as their “guest book.” Guests were able to sign a puzzle piece that Laura & Anthony plan to have their children put together in the later years to come. When the doors opened and the East Room was unveiled, guests were dazzled by the intricate details that all came together for the reception of their dreams.  They had a live band, gorgeous centerpieces and candlelight dining. One of my favorite touches was the King’s Table that seated Laura, Anthony, and all of their wedding party and their guests.

After their perfect day, Laura & Anthony were whisked away by a classic car and a sparkler sendoff. Such a splendid way to end the evening!
