To say it was a pleasure to work with Chi & Mike would be an understatement. This couple was seriously so sweet and fun to work with. Chi hired me a few short months before her wedding to step in and handle the final planning stages of her traditional Chinese wedding. It was a blast!
Mike and Chi’s wedding began on a beautiful Sunday evening at the Richard Nixon Library. The back drop for the ceremony was the gorgeous glimmering pond in the Rose Garden. The ceremony canopy was covered in stunning purple and white orchids, and draped in a flowing white fabric which swayed in the gentle breeze, all “done up” by the wonderful Samantha’s Flowers. Isaiah Duong and Andremeda Strings led and performed a wonderful ceremony for the couple… absolutely lovely!
Guests then enjoyed Cocktail hour… a good time for guests to mingle, freshen up, get a drink and have some snacks.
For the reception, Chi and Mike had selected an amazing traditional 9-course Chinese meal fit for a king and queen, orchestrated by the awesome Stacie at Furiwa Restaurant. I mean seriously, the food kept coming for about 2 hours straight… Wow! Staffing services were provided by White House Catering who did an excellent job at tending to the guests needs and were a pleasure to work with.
Because we needed to fit a large lazy susan in the middle of the tables for the Chinese food, Chi decided to decorate the tables with a trio of vases filled with beautiful orchids and floating candles. And, it was an easy way to save some money as Chi provided all the vases and candles, and ordered the florals from the florist.A great DIY centerpiece was created!
After the first dance, Chi changed into her traditional Chinese wedding gown to do the cake cutting. The stunning cake was provided by the fantastic Portos Bakery…
The rest of the night consisted of entertainment and dancing provided by the talented Michael of MCM Entertainment. Photography was done by Sung at Happy Photos who captured every moment on the night beautifully. Then later in the evening, Sung popped up a slideshow of pictures he had taken during the wedding, which guests just ate up!
I’d also like to mention a few other of Chi and Mike’s wonderful vendors: Charles Lauren Film captured the entire day on film; Katie B Cosmetics assisted in making Chi as lovely as she is. Thanks you two!
What a lovely wedding it was! Thanks Chi and Mike for giving me the opportunity to be a part of it!
