THE MACARTHUR
Truly an architectural gem in Los Angeles, this luxurious venue is rich in history and one-of-a-kind for weddings and special events with its intricate and elaborate Art Deco design. Built in 1925, the Gothic Revival architectural style building was originally intended to serve as a memorial for members of The Elks who had lost their lives during World War I. The building was later sold and is now exclusively reserved for special events and filming, which allows the private event staff to fully devote their attention to plan and execute flawless events. Wedding guests are sure to be impressed by the dramatic entrance of the venue, complete with enormous angels on each corner of its exterior and antique brass elk antlers above the grand entry, as well as the exceptional service they receive by the exclusive in-house caterer, The Copper Key Catering.
CEREMONY & RECEPTION SITES
Couples may choose from a variety of unique and beautifully appointed event spaces for their ceremony and reception. The Historic Lobby (which can hold 150 guests for a ceremony) is utterly enchanting with cathedral-like ceilings, a grandiose antique chandelier, large ornate windows, and elaborate murals evoking the Renaissance-era Villa Madama of Italy.
The Plaza Ballroom can accomodate a ceremony for 220 guests and offers intricate ceiling beams and Corinthian columns gilded in copper leaf. For a reception in The Plaza Ballroom (150 guest capacity for dinner and dancing), guests will also enjoy luxurious wall-to-wall carpeting, built-in wood dance floor, a stunning Art Deco bar, and glass doors that lead out to The Garden.
The Garden is an ideal location if you are looking for an outdoor ceremony up to 400 guests, or an alfresco reception up to 270 guests. This outdoor courtyard is absolutely lovely with market lights overhead and accents of greenery and flower planters.
Another spectacular ceremony and/or reception venue is The Grand Ballroom. This spectacular event space, accommodating 300 guests for a ceremony or 210 guests for a seated dinner and dancing, features a row of columns and arches on each side of the room, exquisite iron-wrought chandeliers, and an original wooden-beamed ceiling with hand-painted designs fashioned after a palace in Florence, Italy.
The venue’s largest event space, Elks Hall, is another fabulous option for a ceremony or reception. This multi-level grand room is stunning in its true Art Deco style, with a beautiful chandelier, elaborate sconces, and exceptionally tall and ornate ceilings. Ceremonies of 500 guests can be accommodated in this space, or receptions of 400 guests for a seated dinner and dancing.
