I honestly think that October has become my FAVORITE month to do weddings. Not just because this past one I was completely JAMMED, but also because it has been literally the Perfect Weather Month… not to hot, not to cold, just right… And it was just right for Molly & Kevin’s unique and amazing wedding at the Richard Nixon Library.

I had the utmost pleasure with working side by side Molly & Kevin for over a year on their lovely wedding. It was so much fun to be a part of the entire wedding planning process, as I usually just do month out packages for most of my brides. It gave me many wonderful opportunities to do Vendor Consultations with them and prospective vendors they were thinking about booking. One of my favorite of these consultations was taking them to meet Darlene at Black Forest Bakery. Yum, yum yum in the tum, tum, tum! Wow, was that appointment just wonderful! Lots of cake and coffee can make just about anyone very happy. Well, needless to say the cake tastings ended there, because Molly & Kevin knew they would get just what they wanted in taste, look and style from the Black Forest Bakery crew… One down, and several more to go…

Over the next several months, we worked on planning the rest of the wedding, booking their amazing caterer for their reception, none other than White House Catering, of course. And with all the Big Vendors booked, we were able to turn our attention to all the fine details that are so much fun, but tedious… And after we ordered the darling favors, sweet Kevin put all of them all together, bows and all. The little candy jars filled with purple-hue M&M’s sweetened everyones tooth! Great job Kev!

And before we knew it, Molly and Kevin came into town for their wedding. Oh yes, I forgot to mention, they live in San Jose and so we planned all the craziness from afar, well at least “afar” for them. On a side note, Molly & Kevin booked the Nixon site unseen, they went only off my recommendation and portfolio and fell in love, knowing this would be the perfect place to have their wedding… And thank God, it was the perfect venue for them!

Their wedding week seemed to go by in an absolute blur, but I had to stop and take in mental notes the day of the wedding to enjoy every fine detail Molly & Kevin worked so hard on…

From the abstract, wintery garden-vibe their ceremony had in the Rose Garden…

To the programs that were also used as fans for those guests who needed a “breeze” during the ceremony…

To their amazing decor and style in the East Room, containing all colors of their color palette from the dark Purples, Black, Pewters, and Ivory with hints of gold… Absolutely stunning! The lighting was done by Fly by Night, linens by my favorite Fusion Linens, and all the flowers and decor were put together by Molly’s wonderful Aunts, Julie & Janel… Great job Ladies!

Thankfully, Jen from PhotoJenic was present and accounted for the entire wedding to capture all of Molly & Kevin’s unique style and flair. I can ALWAYS count on Jen to do a fantastic job, as exhibited in the pics above.. Thank Jen!

Guests wined and dined all evening on cuisine from the White House, danced the night away to the rockin’ tunes from Ray at Fly by Night DJ’s, and had a jolly good time watching Kevin shoot Molly’s garter up and into the chandalier… Yes, it did get stuck and then technically no “lucky” single guy went home that evening thinking he was the next to be married… Seriously, Kevin! I was waiting for this to happen, and it just had to be you, huh!??!? You made me laugh, and cry, thanks Kevin!

Anyway, it was a wonderfully lovely wedding, and I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it… Thanks Molly & Kevin!
