The Resort at Pelican Hill – Orange County Wedding – Tracey & Philip

The Resort at Pelican Hill is truly a dreamy location, from the gorgeous 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean to their service and cuisine that is simply marvelous. Plus, who can top their timeless rotunda — picture-perfect for only the most gorgeous wedding ceremonies. Tracey and Philip knew this would be the perfect place to set the stage for their fantastic wedding.  From their classically elegant bilingual invitations with a crisp monogram in navy and shimmering blush, to the hints of brilliant corals, ivories, and accents of champagne in their floral designs, it was truly a splendid occasion.

We loved helping bring some unique elements to their day, including monogrammed wine glass favors, customized menus and escort cards, and even incorporating their sweet dog in the ceremony processional!

Romantic Tropical Styled Shoot

There is something so dreamy and romantic about a destination wedding in a tropical locale, which is why we were so inspired to create this gorgeous and exotic styled wedding shoot that brings the vibrant vibes of the tropics to life. Bright hues of fuchsia, tangerine, and yellow were paired with ocean blue accents, lush tropical foliage, and hints of bamboo. Three varying tablescapes, all tied together with cool aqua linens, natural wood seating, and fun palm leaf plates, brought texture and dimension to the design. We are absolutely in love with the stunning floral arrangements designed by Tustin Florist with cascading phalaenopsis and dendrobium orchids, dahlias, rich green foliage, and succulents. The sweets table, created by the fabulous Beverly’s Bakery, brought an energetic feel and a touch of whimsy to our mock celebration with magenta-pink and bright orange accents.

We are so excited to share a sneak peek of the exquisite stationery collection we designed just for this occasion. Stay tuned for more amazing stationery details in the upcoming weeks!

You’re Engaged, Now What? Here’s The Checklist Before the Checklist

You’ve become recently Engaged… Congratulations!!! Now many of you are asking – Now what?! Where do I start!? And your head begins to spin…

First… Take a deep breath, think of your fiance, and smile!
Second… Think about the best way to start your planning. Before you start creating your checklist like this one here, (for items such as booking your vendors) there are a couple of items to take care of first! ”

1. What is your budget? Every vendor is going to ask this, every venue is going to ask what you have to spend. Well, without going into too many overwhelming details, 50{f5c107fc002375c7d123cfb6185143192cb8ff5b7b73fc75d65c15be922d43bb} of your budget goes towards any fees related to the Venue, Food, and Beverages. The other 50{f5c107fc002375c7d123cfb6185143192cb8ff5b7b73fc75d65c15be922d43bb} goes to the rest of your vendor team, from wedding planner or coordinator, photography, videography, entertainment, floral design, rentals, invitations, transportation, officiant, and the list goes on. So, if you have a total budget (pulled together from family and the two of you) of $50K, your venue total budget is $25K (including taxes, service charges, food, beverage, and facility fees). If you don’t start with your budget, then you cannot find the perfect venue. We suggest that all our clients use for setting their budget and keeping their spending plan on track! They have great tools for free to use.

2. Determine the Style of your Wedding. This doesn’t just encompass your color palette, but includes the season you’ve dreamed about, time of day of your wedding ceremony/reception, along with general vicinity (beachside, garden, completely outdoor event, etc).

3. Decide upon your needs for a Wedding Planner vs. Coordinator. The main reason you decide this now, is a Planner can assist you in FINDING that perfect venue (which is the next step), and lining you up with a fantastic Wedding Vendor Team. A Coordinator is going to step back in closer to the wedding day (usualy 6-8 weeks out from your wedding) and wrap up your details. A Coordinator is NOT INVOLVED in the Planning at all.

4. Let the Search Begin for that Perfect Venue… Use online resourses, call for quotes, and schedule site tours. This can be a long process, but until you’ve booked a Venue, and secured a wedding date, you can’t move on to the rest of the Planning Fun!

Now… take a deep breath, smile, and call us if you need any advise!

Alec & Ryan’s Gorgeous Green Wedding

Alec and Ryan’s wedding was something out of a dream.  It was such a joy to plan all of the special details alongside these college sweethearts.  We loved having the bride’s personal style shine through every detail, from the vintage lounge furniture to the bohemian beaded anklets she wore down the aisle.

Their neutral color palette with lush greenery, ivory roses, peonies, and hydrangeas mixed with natural wood elements to create an absolutely divine garden ceremony.  We had so much fun designing their reception in Franciscan Gardens’ new indoor space!  The brick walls and original hardwood floors made the vibrant green florals and white accents really pop.

These two wanted their wedding to be a party from start to finish.  Cocktail hour was complete with Moscow Mules and a Cigar Lounge with a personalized cigar box for the bride and groom.  After dinner, guests snacked on fresh gourmet donuts and sipped on coffee from a vintage coffee station.

There were so many amazing details, from their vintage chalkboard seating chart to the personalized cocktail napkins — but my favorite design element had to be their sweetheart table.  Jenny B Floral Design created an absolutely stunning succulent wall as a backdrop for the bride and groom.  Vintage lanterns and lush greenery finished off the romantic reception focal point.  Keep reading for more wonderful wedding inspiration!

Stephanie & Israel’s Beautiful Wedding

As I write about this beautiful couple, my heart aches and my eyes tear up as I relive this amazing day. It’s not just that this special day was beautiful from start to finish, but it also reminds me of how fragile and precious life is. A few short weeks after Stephanie and Israel were married, Israel lost his life in a horrific car accident and Stephanie became a newlywed widow. The worst nightmare. But it’s not surprising to me that this incredible woman, Stephanie, rose above the heartache, despair, anger, and questions to grasp lovingly to the sweet memory and time she will always cherish that she had with Israel.  Her strength, will and hope blesses my soul tremendously and I am honored to call her friend.

Stephanie, words cannot express my sincerest and deepest sorrow for your loss. Please know that you are a true blessing to so many, and your strength, love and integrity are a model to us all. I know your little girl is going to grow up knowing not only how deeply you love her, but also what a wonderful, kindhearted, loving man her daddy was.  I know you are going to be the most amazing mom!

Rest in peace, Israel.  May this blog be a token to your memory…

What a truly exquisite wedding this was to be a part of. Stephanie is an amazing, caring, thoughtful young woman and has such great taste.  She fell in love with Rancho Las Lomas, knowing it was the perfect fit — with its stunning Spanish style and beautiful architecture.  The design and style of Stephanie and Israel’s wedding was nothing short of a Spanish romance, filled with luscious blush florals, stately design, and details, details, details. I especially loved designing her wedding stationery and signage! Every element was so true to this wonderful couple’s style, and their love for each other shines through so brightly in every moment.
